water,Hand soap, toilet paper,hand towels,trash bags for 10,000 people can cost some serious dough.cleaning supplies, tons of electricity for sound booth lighting,vacuuming, spot lights,air conditioning,landscaping fuel, I imagine the facility isn't used everyday so you are paying for the total upkeep for the whole year including repairs i would think. I heard 14k in daytona beach so im not sure why it costs so much.

Kingdom Hall feels uncomfortably hot lately

If there were any changes to the ac in kingdom halls we would see it in an elders letter. My friend says that he has been to a few halls recently visiting friends and all the halls are nicely air conditioned. He says the elders control the temperature and often its based on their personal preference. Over the years he has seen some halls with people cooling themselves with the watchtower magazine and some halls the sisters bringing blankets and sweaters etc. He said he had one elder that didn't like it cold and so he had trouble not sweating at the meeting because the temp was set to high.

Bethel Status Update - Insider Information

Many of the people being sent home are people in their 20's and 30's. I know this for a fact because I just met a number of them while visiting a friend at walkill.
I am unaware of any older ones being sent home. The majority of construction projects are being stopped except for warwick. I was told the society feels that building stuff for the bethel family is not gods direction and the money will be better spent on more kingdom halls where there is a real great need. I was also told that they wanted to send as many workers into the field as possible.
I was told they would be sending over a 1000 people from us bethel back to their homes etc. Only essential staff would remain. I was told that they would no longer have morning worship in the cafeteria but each bethelite would buy their own breakfast from the commissary which they would get a little extra stipend each month to cover the cost. This would have a few benefits such as they would no longer require a large cooking and cleaning staff which would allow these workers to go back into the preaching work. This would save time for the bethel family and save costs. The bethelites can have morning worship through the watchtower on demand system that goes straight to each bethelites tv. Bethel in every country has already ended the gathering in the cafeteria for morning worship for some time now with the us branch as the only branch yet to end this arrangement. I remember them saying something about the cleaning staff might be leaving to.
I was told that when the watchtower started off its location in ny it was crucial. One reason was because the waterways were important for shipping material world wide. Today, The high end self sufficient printing equipment in ny is the same at other bethel branches world wide. There is no longer a need for many people nor is there a need to ship stuff from ny to the whole world. Now bethel branches around the world are better located to print and distribute literature from their locations using the same high end printing equipment ny uses. This saves on numerous costs associated with the shipping process.
The watchtower moving from new york to war wick will accomplish these things . This will remove the bethel family from the dangers of living in new york city and all the opportunity's to commit wrong doing. This will save the watchtower lots of money in utilities costs, ny taxes, transportation costs in ny, etc. I was told there are actually taxes the society still has to pay and high costs due to living in ny. One thing the brother mentioned was that ny is a target for terrorists but I dont think that was an official reason for leaving ny. The society does not need to be in ny anymore and theres no longer a need to pay the costs associated with being in new york or putting the bethel family in harms way by living in ny. When warwick is finished everything will be relocated to warwick.

WHERE IS THE PROOF?
I hope no one on Jehovahs-witness.com gets caught for child molestation or any sex acts on a child because then we would get to see what it feels like having people make wild accusations and taking your disgusting act on a child and accusing all of us here of being part of a porn ring!
Everywhere we go we are surrounded by child sexual predators...... who are NOT in a religion. There are so many sexual predators it should come as no surprise that we find them in religion, politics, entertainment industry, military and every other place on this earth. No government or religion or any other institution has figured out how to prevent sexual predators from becoming an employee or a member of their faith and claiming to represent them while committing horrible crimes on a child.
The government has failed to prevent sex crimes and it has no idea whether those employed by the government are sexual predators who haven't been caught yet until its somehow revealed. If the mighty U.S. government can't identify and stop sexual predators why do we expect religions and other institutions to somehow have the answer? No one has an answer to this problem.... Every institution whether a government or otherwise tries to keep the horrible actions of one or more then one of its people hidden this is a common reaction made by nearly every one in the world.
I personally think whether the crime is committed in Vatican city, the government and every other place the police should should be the ones to investigate and handle the situation.
I will not be participating in a witch hunt. Let the authorities do their job.

Does the GB also do Fieldservice?

The article doesn't mention the gb. Replacing the old witnesses with younger ones is likely meant to get the younger ones more involved in things and thus encouraging the other younger ones. It gets the next generation of witnesses ready to take the lead. It seems an obvious move really...
